I have downloaded Firefox 4 when prompted to do so and replaced the earlier version. I now discover that Firefox 4 will not run on OS 10.4.11. There was no warning of this so my earlier version has been replaced. Can you resupply the earlier version of Firefox that will run on OS10.4.11?

medley, did you not notice the reply by the-edmeister on where you can Safely get the current 3.6.16 version?

The version you linked to is older as it is the 3.6.13 when the 3.6.16 is the current security/stability bug fix update. That site is three 3.6.* versions behind.

Also there is no need to get any Firefox version from some random unofficial download site when Mozilla has all releases archived since the beginning readily available, though it is not recommended to go older that 4.0, 3.6.16 or 3.5.18 due to possible security reasons.

There is a option for to try Firefox 4.0 on the old OSX 10.4.11 at http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

go to: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

edited by a moderator - we don't recommend 3rd party web sites for the download of Firefox when that version is still available from Mozilla
