I recently visited the site https://www.pcmag.com/, which is in English, and with Firefox it is impossible to translate it into Italian, while Chrome does this automatically. I have also tried to use all possible extensions to make translations of entire web pages, but they do not work.

Firefox does not have a built-in translator.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

I've tried several translation extensions, but none can translate the pages of the site https://www.pcmag.com/.

Some of those add-ons have an option to send the page link to its translation website.

I tried many extensions, many do not work, some allow you to translate only selected words or phrases, others are a simple link to Google Translate but none can translate the pages of the site that I have indicated. The only way to do this is to connect to https://www.bing.com/translator, and then paste the address of the page to be translated: there is no other way to translate an entire web page with Firefox. But why in Firefox there is not the same automatic translation functionality that exists in Chrome?

Did you try this extension?

See : https://www.ghacks.net/2018/09/09/mozilla-working-on-google-translate-integration-in-firefox/?source=techstories.org

Personal note : If all browser had extactly the same features, we would only need one browser ......

I clicked on the link, but it does not lead anywhere: I think the extension does not exist. I then read the article about the implementation, in Firefox, of automatic translation as in Chrome but, if I did not understand it, nothing was done. Regarding, then, the comment that if all the browsers had the same functionality it would only need one, what's the point of writing this? If Firefox automatically translates web pages like Chrome does, this would be one less reason to abandon it and switch to the competition. Firefox, in recent times, has lost so many users and Chrome is, by far, the most used browser in the world: if Mozilla fails to add other features already present in the main competitor, as he thinks to gain new users, convincing them to try Firefox and to leave Chrome?

Just a suggestion :

Maybe you could bookmark one of these :

Or :

https://translate.google.com/

Sorry, can you download the file under that link? Firefox could prevent installing the addon outside AMO.

It's not that easy. All translation engines belong to other browser vendors.

Thank you all for the answers: Firefox support is excellent, as always. I had already tried Bing Translator, and in fact it is the only way to translate the pages of the site https://www.pcmag.com/: I basically have to copy the URL of the page, open Bing Translator and paste it. I reiterate, however, that Firefox should not be less than the competition, but if anything should be higher, and in part it is already: respects user privacy (Chrome much less), is lighter on computer resources (Chrome is heavier) , and using it the notebook battery lasts longer. However, it is annoying that such a useful feature as the automatic translation of web pages into another language is not present and, moreover, that none of the extensions available for translation work for this purpose.

AFAIK firefox doesn't have a built in language translator like Chrome. And til they build one in your best off using Chrome if you go to site different then the language you use example EN to FR or like that. I did like you find a addon but those were not good so I stuck with Chrome now if I need to read different language sites.

Since sometimes Google Translate does not work, the only way to translate entire web pages with Firefox is to copy the page URL, open Bing Translator and paste.

Wouldn't it be easier to bookmark both (or one of them) as I suggested earlier ?

In fact that's what I wrote. I saved www.bing.com/translator in my bookmarks and I use it when I have to translate something.

I don't see you mention 'bookmarks' - I must be overlooking it ....
