Thunderbird will not REPLY to the "reply-to" address
A received email has diff "from" and "reply to" addresses, yet when I go to REPLY to this email, Thunderbird uses the FROM address to reply to, not the "Reply to" address.
The whole point of a sender using a "reply-to" address is so that any reply's go to the "reply-to" address and not the "from" address.
So how do I get Thunderbird to use the "reply-to" address instead of the "from" address? Outlook does this seamlessly.

Are you using Thunderbird Daily, Aurora or Beta? In Thunderbird 50.0 bug 77304 bug 77304 was fixed, that might cause your problem: Bug 77304 - Cannot reply to From: when Reply-To: field appears in header
I'm having this problem as well. For instance, with all of my google groups I cannot reply-to the group without editing the reply address. Thunderbird selects the email address of the person who posted the message, not the group's reply address.
I'm on Windows 10 using Thunderbird 52.1.0 (32-bit).
This problem seems to be a relatively new one for me.
I am also having this problem. It was introduced in 52, it seems. I have restarted in safe mode with all add-ons disabled and the problem persists: When replying to a message (I use ctrl-r to invoke), the Reply-To: header is ignored and the To: address is filled in instead.
Since this is in violation of RFC 2822 and is against how all email clients have worked since RFC 822, can it be addressed?
I am experiencing this same issue. My Thunderbird is 5.2.2.1 and it says it is up-to-date.
This began happening sometime this month (June 2017). I belong to a list-serv and was getting disturbed by the fact that my postings to the list were not appearing in the list according to my inbox.
What was happening was that the 'Reply-To' header in the messages was being stripped from the display and my reply was going to the 'From' instead of the 'Reply-to.'
Why is this happening, and how do I fix it?
