white screen when no display available
I have a laptop. And i have made it common practice to leave it on so i can access it when ever i need to. But i also like to turn off the lid display, and to only way to do that is to shut the lid, which is fine because i have disabled the auto sleep function. The problem is when is access the computer via remote connection and open Firefox, all that i see is a white screen. now before any one thinks that it is the remote tool. I have already proven that not to be the case. To see Firefox over a remote connection, all that i have to do is open the lid so the display can re-enable or plug in a valid external display to see Firefox. Also a screen clipping of the computer at the remote station shows that Firefox is just a white screen. Any help in this is much appreciated.

Using hardware acceleration means that Firefox uses the GPU instead of the CPU to do some operations and you may not notice any effect on the performance of Firefox if hardware acceleration is disabled.

I might sugget trying to access it with out addons enabled, but it looks like some of the add ons are vpn and privacy related and might not be desire?.
You are right, the first thing I though was that it might be the compression setting in your remote desktop session. It may need to be set to 15-bit or higher it displays properly
I tried starting Firefox in safe mode and the I didn't have the issue but after causing the issue again and disabling all add-ons the problem still persists I even removed all of the add-ons to see if that would help but alas it doesn't
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
ok so disabling the hardware acceleration disabled it has solved the issue but what does that affect in the browser.
