Why is this process running?
On my Windows 7 machine, I am running Firefox V115.17.0esr (64 bit). When using Task Manager yesterday, I noticed the process spNMHost.exe whose description reads "Autofill Engine host for Chromium-based web browsers", but this process is started by Firefox (and ends when Firefox closes).
What the heck is going on?

Show proof that it's started by Firefox. A simple search shows more info about the process. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=spNMHost.exe
This tools show more info about processes in widows. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer Post a screenshot of this tool because it will show the owner of the process.

jonzn4SUSE - Tank you. Yes, I do have Sticky Password (great program) and spNMHost.exe starts running when Firefox is launched. Not sure if the "Autofill Engine host for Chromium-based web browsers" is a generic message, because the autofill engine works with all browsers; or if it is a bug in Sticky Password, that the process launched whenever any browser fires up; or if it is just a poorly worded description. I suspect that it is just poorly worded, because I shut down Firefox, the launched Explorer then Supermium, but spNMHost.exe did not start in either situation.
So not a Firefox problem. Issue resolved?
Wasn't really a problem - I was just curious.
