Page loading issues after Firefox 36.0 upgrade
Some of the pages in our website are not loading after the recent upgrade. The solutions given in the forum for similar errors have not helped resolve this problem. The error is included below. Any thoughts on what is causing this.

Is this a public website if so what are the pages ?
Is this only some pages ? and do the problem pages work ok in other browsers ?
Yes the pages work in other browsers and they used to work in the previous firefox version and it is being reported by our users of our web application who have upgraded.
- One of the places where we are seeing this is where we have a file upload feature. It works fine for .txt files but gives the 'Secure connection failed' for other file extensions.
- Another place is where we POST data using tiny mce editor. We are using this editor in several other places and it works fine without any problems.
Any help in debugging this problem is appreciated.
This forum concentrates on solving end users problems. As this is effectively a web development question and not affecting a public website I suggest you try asking over at Mozillazine.
These are the release notes for Fx36 if that helps
I had wondered if security or mixed content rules had changed in Fx 36 but I am not sure there is anything relevant in the notes https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/36#Security
Do the built in consoles etc help
It is a public site and it is happening to end users using our site, but unfortunately I would not be able to show you the problem since it requires user to be registered and go through an approval process. But if mozillazine forum is the place to ask this question, I'll do that.
Not able to gather much information from the firefox console other than seeing there is no response. Also tried toggling the mixed content rules and no luck there.
We are mainly just fellow Firefox users. Not much we can do to help if the pages require registration and we can not see them. You could set up a public test page.
At this stage there is probably no certainty that the problem is a Firefox bug.
Since upgrading to FF 36 FF take about 50 seconds to open to finance.yahoo.
Tried refreshing and disabling add-ons. No help. I kept copy of 35.0.1 and using that now but reloaded 36 and still the same problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi divenow, Using Firefox 36 I do not notice any problems on finance.yahoo.com
Not too sure but are you saying you have a problem with Fx36 but not Fx35.0.1 if that is so the most likely reason is the Firewall or other security software is realising the browser has changed and needs it's settings updating.
If your problems continue please start your own question using the link /questions/new/desktop/
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Looked in to anti-virus software as suggested by john99.
I first turned off the NIS Smart Firewall located under settings-network-smart firewall. NIS is managing windows firewall. No change in FF.
Then turned off Intrusion prevention under same tab in NIS, followed by turning off Browser protection under web tab - browser protection.
Restarted FF 36. FF36 began to open in a reasonable time.
Went back into NIS and restored all settings above in reverse order and FF still working.
Thanks for the help

Bob
