I have used Thunderbird for years and have never had a problem on new devices until now. Purchased new laptop in January and installed TB. The setup and install went fine but only a few emails downloaded. I am missing hundreds of emails from the past few years. Some are very important. Old laptop is not usable so i can't access TB that way. Is there a fix to this problem? Thank you.

Hi, Are you using IMAP or POP3? This will determine if you can retrieve the old emails off of the old mail server or not.

If you have access to the old computer the profile folder can be added with these instructions

In the account settings to prevent this from happening again, you can check "Synchroniztaion & Storage" and click the "Advanced" button to see if all of the folders are selected to keep on the local computer. More on this IMAP Synchronization

There is an add on Get all mail that may do this function as well.

I hope this helps.
