Several sites I use (Yahoo, American Thinker) and occasionally other random sites won't load when I use your Add-Ons Privacy Badger, and Ublock. I get server can't be reached errors. I use ESET as my security app. Suggestions?

What happens in Safe Mode?

If I refresh the browser, it clears all the problems but then I have to reenter all passwords. I've done this at least half a dozen times. If I even do a search for Ublock or Badger, it seems to cause problems. I just added AdBlock and so far so good. If it works satisfactorily, I won't try the others any more.

Users find that one blocker works better for them over another. That is why there are so many.

Load the web page. After the page is loaded, click the AdBlock icon. Now select Disable on <website>. After, reload the page.

Has Microsoft messed with Firefox so that some webpages are not loading? I can't get my Dropbox to load. I've refreshed and refreshed and refreshed. If I go over to Microsoft Edge...no problem. What's up? Anyone else?

Issue with 2 sites, one a professional site for doctors (partial access to website) and second to online banking - will not store cookie settings. Other sites seem OK. Disabled any extensions such as adblocker.

Does that mean you cannot get to the site or are you having login issues? see screeshot

What are the sites? Post screenshots of what you are seeing.

with respect rather not name sites as involved with their help desk - to limited avail. The issue with the online banking is simple - a message pops up every time - Manage cookie settings. I click my choice, or even, all - but setting does not hold on this website, between sessions.

cleared cache and cookies before - zilch stopped trackers and adblock - zilch done aboutconfig - "Double-click the network.cookie.sameSite.laxByDefault preference to switch the value from true to false " already at false. So stumped, unless my bank can see a firefox issue - I'm stuck But my wasn't about third party cookies, but about opning up website - cookie setting not saved whether personalised or all.

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

OK sorry, but I am way out of my depth here. Basically on my PC bookmarks etc are my world / life. If I create a new profile, do I not risk losing bookmarks / passwords etc etc etc. The layout of my bookmarks is critical to me and has been built up over the years I have been on firefox. In contact with my bank this am they have no other customer with a problem, so this is unique to me and my browser. I have looked at the links provided above - but that doesn't tell me the best way forward, nor the risks - just article links. So I could create a new profile, but will what is front of me change? Secondly this PC is shared between two users, so if FF is dabbled with, will this affect the other user who doesn't have a problem?

Sorry to appear childish and inept, but this annoyance is well beyond my tech abilities and I would need guidance in baby steps, not knowledge presumption. Not that I am ungrateful, but I have other important issues in my life and do not have the energy to try and fathom what is likely very easy to others. Sorry, not being ungrateful - just not tech nor nerd cheers

Pl ease don't worry. Your original profile will not be changed. I want you to create a new profile to see if the problem is still there.

If not, we can Copy parts of the original profile to recover your data.

OK created new profile If anything, things were worse, in that loading opened tabs seemed to take longer, and the original issue of asking for cookies with online banking persists.

I had a workaround with the banking issue by bypassing initial page and going straight to login, but it is variable, sometimes and issue sometimes not. The bank on the phone are clear, no one else has this problem and it also, on this computer is affected in Edge. Full scan by Bitdefender anti-virus has been performed, Firefox cache emptied, cookies and history deleted several times.

Hence seemingly part of computer "is broked" but what and how to fix is elusive. Whilst it does seem to be a Firefox issue, unless I export bookmarks and passwords to Edge (to save them) as well as create an export file to save them and totally uninstall Firefox then re-install and import bookmarks and passwords from Edge, as I had to do with the new profile, I cannot think of an sensible alternative. That is unless someone has the Fix my Firefox software app !

Annoyingly it is just 2 websites that are mucking about of which one is likely to be internal to that website since it had an upgrade. Whereas the banking website - it may be just as easy to accept the situation and just save cookies every time .

What bugs me is I don't like broken things in sight. My career was fixing people, and being unable to fix - a computer, is really annoying !

Any bright ideas out there, other than either a) live with it until time for new PC or b) uninstall / reinstall. The trouble is I am so used to the layout of bookmarks etc.

There are (many) times I hate technology. and even more so that everything is going online, including banks.

Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox {web link}

Remove a single website from your history {web link}

Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings And Passwords.

sorry didn't work either The only way to access the subsite in one website is to use Anti Virus free VPN, but makes no difference to the banking site. I've tried closing the firewall as well to see if AV affecting - no difference. Tried x3 different browsers now - Firefox, Edge, Opera and for the non-banking site - Android (Chrome) - again no access to a subsite.

In both circumstances neither company can find an issue on their site, nor have any been reported. So one ponders that somehow my computer has been compromised somehow, but not by malware as numerous scans have shown.

So somewhere, somehow there is a partial corruption.

I might try firefox troubleshoot mode

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

safe mode as above - issue remains. The only thing I can think off visually is that for some websites the little bouncing blue ball (load indicator) takes longer with some sites than others. But as posted before despite all the kind offers of advice, the issue occurs with Edge / Opera browsers on PC and Chrome on Android but not in Antivirus VPN mode. I'm struggling to understand why VPN is seemingly OK, but regular non-VPN is not. Particularly so when a few weeks back everything was OK. Maybe I need to stop trying. maybe it isn't firefox.
