I can send emails and do receive them on my iphone but when I try to receive them on my windows laptop I get a message box stating, "Sending of password for user g*** did not succeed. Mail server pop.optonline.net responded: Service Temporarily Unavailable". This happened after the latest windows update. I also noticed in windows settings that there are two optonline accounts now. Just for kicks I opened windows mail and there were the past couple of days of inbox activity. Did windows block my Thunderbird account? How do I get it back?

Thanks for any help offered.

Chosen solution

The recommended POP server is mail.optimum.net on 995, SSL/TLS, authentication = normal password, User Name = part of address before @. The outgoing smtp is the same except the port is 465.

Does using these settings make the mail download?

Thank you for your reply. I had to let this problem "marinate" for a week before getting back to it and I found that when I did so that the email problem resolved itself. Again, thanks.
