Can I configure Firefox so that it uses my integrated GPU for hardware acceleration instead of my discrete GPU?
I often watch videos on my secondary screen (which is plugged into my integrated GPU on my Desktop PC) while I play games on my primary screen. So the idea is that I want to relieve my discrete GPU (a GTX960) by using the integrated GPU (Intel HD4600) for things like Youtube, Twitch or Amazon prime videoplayback. Can I configure firefox (in the about:config or otherwise) so that it uses the integrated GPU for hardware acceleration instead of my discrete one?

That will be based on you O/S and how it handles traffic the Browser doesn't get much in control here. What you want to do is the config your O/S to use the Discrete GPU instead that will direct the traffic but that is a Windows and GPU driver issue not something Mozilla can control.

Hmm, I use Zoom Player for Movie playback and it switches GPUs on the fly depending on to which monitor I drag the player window. So, I'm not entirely convinced that it's completely OS based instead application based.
