This and a previous post on Gadgets missing on Google Sites in edit mode are related to recent FF updates. Just noticed this with Issuu.com. There should be a Follow button and a range of other buttons for social sharing and adding to Issuu.com stacks. Works on Safari! Cookies deleted, Flash updated and still not there. Regregettably, I am going to move back to Safari because too many things have gone wrong with FF since update 22!

Could you try the sites Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference? If the buttons do appear in Safe Mode, then one of your extensions might be filtering them out in normal mode.

Hi jscher2000,

Thanks for responding. Disabling add-ons made no difference i'm afraid. As I said in my post, something radical changed during the past two or three FF updates that I first noticed whilst editing a Google Site where the content of embedded gadgets disappeared in edit mode and now it is affecting Issuu.com I think someone in the Community familiar with how Firefox is coded should run a few tests.

I think I might have a Google Sites account that I'm not using, so I could take a look at that one (hopefully this weekend). Could you describe the steps to get to the editor where I could see the problem?

Also, Google has a support forum for Google Sites where someone might have posted about this. I didn't search (busy morning): http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/sites

Hi jscher2000,

Sign-in to your google account at the bottom of the web page (note: it might take several attempts in FF which is another new issue I forgot to mention as it should be a single step as before). Once signed in, you will see the edit pencil at the top of page, click in an area of the page, then choose Insert and More which give you a selection of Gadgets menu, Try Public and search for iFrame (as an example). You will get a white gadget box on the page. Click it and choose settings and add a website. When you close the editing you will still have the edit tools available and you should see the contents of the iFrame just as it is if you signed-out and viewed it as a member of the public. Hope it generates the same issue I have.

Regards

Hi WindHillWebs, when I use the iframe gadget, I don't get a live preview in the editor. I've attached a screen shot of what I see (Firefox 25, Windows 7).

I might not be accurately replicating your scenario. For example, I didn't have any other content in that box, so the alignment and wrapping buttons that appear on the floating toolbar when I click the gadget box don't have any effect on my test page.

This issue is happening for me with issue also. It's only firefox on a PC that's doing it. You can look at any publication here and then look in an other browser, it will be totally different: http://issuu.com/susanhall4/docs/2013s6_client_en_1_#

Hi amirkhan81

The Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+K) shows some errors and one of them is with the transition leaving the opacity set 0 (zero) and thus this content stays hidden.

Error in parsing value for 'transition'. Declaration dropped. @ http://static.issuu.com/frontend/1262/w/_user_/docs/_docname_/index.css:9

Thanks cor-el but can you let us know if this is something that we as users correct or something that needs to be corrected in a FF release?

The website needs to correct this and fix the CSS errors that apply to Firefox that are shown in the web console.
