I just downloaded Firefox and when i try and run it the hourglass pops up, then dissapears and nothing happens. (the same problem i am having with IE8) Any suggeestions?

I have been trying to get IE8 to work and everyone says firefox is a better browser. IE7 works fine. I am running XP. Have cleared registry, reinstalled, updated DLL's. Don't know what else to do. (IE8 will start in safe mode)

Since neither browser is working, it could be your firewall.

If, for some reason, you think Safe Mode is connected w/ Windows Safe Mode, it is not. Safe Mode is a Firefox feature. Just a suggestion that might work...
