My version of Linux Mint is 17.3. FireFox is 64 bit Quantum 66.0.3. I've installed FlashPlayer 32.0.0171 from a Ubunto repository. I've added a screen dump from the Add-ons Manager which has different information

I've deactivated the Flash Player. The videos that I see are either through You Tube channels (RI and MIT Open Course Ware) or TopDocumentaryFilms and both still work. I noticed that my TOR which is based on Fire Fox doesn't use the Flash Player and the above has always worked there. I did find an update of Flash for Linux but it was older than the version I downloaded from the Ubunto repository.

I've also discovered that Mozilla is not interested in implementing the Pepper app interface and is fairly certain that Adobe will be implementing the HTTPxxx (can't remember the rest) eventually. Chrome is not an option for me.

At any rate my problem is solved. Thank you for your response.

Flash 32.0.0.171 is a old version (from April) and is indeed vulnerable. The current version from Adobe is 32.0.0.293 (since Nov.13) https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player.html https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb19-46.html Flash 32.0.0.238 and earlier is affected.

https://blocked.cdn.mozilla.net/ Flash Player Plugin on Linux 32.0.0.270 and older is blocked. The previous Flash version blocked was 32.0.0.255

As I said the most current Flash Player Plugin for Linux can be found at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Adobe is looking to drop support of their Flash Player completely by end of 2020 (this has been in works since mid 2017) so I would be surprised if they add in any real significant new features or changes. Many web browsers have been limiting support of the Flash Player Plugins in various ways like click to activate in last months already.

Youtube appears to work because they have been using a HTML5 player for a long while now and not really supporting Flash anymore. HTML5 players are more cross platform compared to the more limited platforms supported by the Flash Player Plugins.
