Hoping to get some help. New printer HP Ofc Jet. FF prints extremely slow. But prints fine in Safari. Help please
Hope someone can help here. Installed new printer HP Office Jet 6978. Now Firefox prints extremely slow. I tried printing in another browser, Safari, and it works fine in Safari. I'm printing email, pdf's, articles, just the normal stuff like I have always done. I looked up suggestions and did what was suggested, which was to try on another browser, which I did, and that works. Also tried suggestion"about:config" and reset. This did not solve the problem. Also tried to remove all lines that start with pref.js that start with "print_ It would not let me remove these, and not sure how to do this anyway. I'm on the newest version of Firefox Quantum 57.0.4
Thank You,

Did you remove any other previous Printer software install? Also what version of FF are you using x86 or x64 and what was previous version of FF x86 or x64?

Yes, well at least old printer does not show. I'm on the newest version of FF Quantum 57.0.4 64 bits. I have tried other ways to print, and noticed if I go to File, Print, in the box under Orientation, it always shows Firefox, when I hit print it takes forever. So, I tried changing all the different options listed in that box, and it seems faster, if I change from Firefox to "paper type/Quality" then select under the Paper Type, "plain paper" it is faster, but, this is inconvenient to have to do this each time. In Safari, no need to change anything, as there are no options, it just shows picture, then all I have to do is hit print. But in FF I have all the options I explained that I have to do each time. Thank You,

I think you first uninstall all printers including the new Printer Driver and then reinstall only just the New printer and see then happens. If the problem persist then you might need to contact HP printer support for printing issues as well.
Did try this, and did not work....Going back to using Safari....Thanks for your help tho :)
