I used the "Forget" button for the first time to clear out "the last 5 minutes" of history since the web site I was sent to turned out to be a scam. It cleared out EVERY TAB in all of my Firefox windows! How do I report this?

I'm using an iMac with OS X 10.6.8.

You can use "Clear Recent History" in cases where you want to clear data from website you visited instead of using the Forget button that is actually labeled as a panic button if you would check the code and that closes all open tabs and does a lot more then you might expect.

hi DrDaveFirefox, the place to report bugs in firefox would be bugzilla.mozilla.org. however i don't think that what you've describe constitutes a bug - the "forget" dialog states that it will clear all open tabs and windows & open a new blank one.

Note that there is also "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history item to remove data only from one specific domain. You can do that in the history sidebar and in the History Manager (Library; Show All History).

Thank you cor-el for all of the information. Very helpful.

And thank you phillipp too. I forgot what the button did -- OK, seriously I didn't read it closely enough when I first saw it and thought I knew what it did. You are right, it's not a bug (except in my brain). It's a pain to re-open the tabs I had open but I'll remember what that button does now, AND I'll know where to report a real bug if I find one.

Thank you both for the quick answers!
