How do I get download helper to get a COMPLETE file download on files larger than 2.0GB?

I use XP OS. I am using download helper to download a file from a hosts stream. Window shows a 2.0 GB file and successful download but the actual file wanted is larger than that. I am receiving about 5 1/4 hrs. out of a 7 hr. length file. What must I do to receive the whole file?
