I got the notice to update Adobe Flash Player to Version 26. I tried 3 times following the instructions. All 3 times failed. I found out that Adobe Flash Player is blocked and I have no idea how that happened. I'm guessing this is why I can't update the player for FireFox. This is what I saw come up: Flash Player Plugin 22.0.0.192 to 22.0.0.211 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection. I already have tried contact Adobe but they kept me waiting for more than half an hour and when they replied I was told to visit their forum, which is in itself confusing for me to look at. Please help

You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

Flash Player Version: 26.0.0.131

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Version 22 is blocked, but the current version, Version 26, is not blocked.

Are you downloading from Adobe's page here?

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Yes I went to that page several times and tried to install version 26. It would start installing and get to 50% then quit.

If you got the download successfully, then started Adobe's installer, and then it failed, it could be that the Windows installer is backed up with deferred changes. Try shutting down Windows (gently, not using the power button) and restarting it to clear the queue of deferred updates.

If that doesn't allow Adobe's installer to run to completion, you could try the following link, which gets a "full" installer:

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe

(Macromedia was the original developer of Flash and was acquired by Adobe years ago, so that is a legitimate site for Flash downloads.)
