problem with saving changes in Wix

more options

Every time after I have made and saved changes on my Wix website, close it and then re-open on Firefox it opens a website that does not reflect the changes that I just made. I've tried everything, reboot, sign-in without password manager but nothing works. When I do this in Chrome it works fine! How do I fix this pronto?

Sometimes Firefox can be a bit aggressive about retaining cached files, so if you haven't already, try clearing your Firefox browsing cache.

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

I got your reply message with more information:

All I know is that in Firefox the anchors are present in the Wix edit mode and I can drag them to their desired position but then they have moved back next time I open the program. Also, when I go to the actual website in Firefox, it is clear that the anchors are misplaced. However, when I open it in Chrome they are in the right place.

On the first one, are other edits you make in Firefox saved? On the second one, that's why I suggested clearing the cache. Are you able to follow the steps in the article I linked to?

Yes, other edits are all saved and I did follow the instructions for clearing the cache. Maybe time to call in the ghostbusters??

One other thing you could try while you wait for any authoritative explanation is to use a fresh Firefox profile.

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test the site.

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the Create a New Profile button, then click Next. Assign a name like Sept2016, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Set as default profile button below that profile, then scroll back up and click the Restart normally button.

Firefox should exit and then start up using the new profile, which will just look brand new.

Does your Wix page work any better in the new profile? You also could test the editor.

When you are done with the experiment, open the about:profiles page again, click the Set as default profile button for your normal profile, then click the Restart normally button to get back to it.

Changing the profile has no effect.
