Hi there Please help!!! I don't like using google play as I don't agree with their terms & conditions. The link you've given for an earlier post I've tried but get "Parse error - there is a problem parsing the package" I got the link by searching on my smartphone "How to install FF on Android not through google play" found this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1103697. Downloaded the link in the answer ie: https://download.mozilla.org/?product=fennec-latest&os=android&lang=multi Then selected the downloaded file via the "download" screen and via "my files". The download was indicated as complete. The downloaded file size is 39.5MB I've tried by downloading to my phone memory and tried it with it downloaded to my external memory. I've tried this link with and without a tick in "Unknown Sources". Every time I get the same "parse error" message. Please kindly provide a safe link which enables the download of FF onto android smartphone and android tablet without going through google play. I am not a techno, so please keep it simple. I'm sure there are many users who'd love to down FF without going through google play!! Thanks

Not sure if the manually installed Firefox Release and Beta builds still do not get updates compared to the Firefox installs from Google Play.

Hi, thank you for responding soooo quickly. It worked, simple and straightforward for a non techno person - I'm happy happy happy !!! I've been able to default to my fav browser DuckDuckGo without issue. Ooooh Happy Days. Thank you you are a star!  :-) I've already sent the link to my friends.

Have you prompted Mozilla to promote this direct download? I hope so. I'll give the feedback and will get my friends to do the same. Thanks again. You take :-)

Please note that release and beta builds will not update automatically. To get updates you would need to use aurora. Which can be downloaded from https://aurora.mozilla.org/

However now that there is https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/android/all/ and https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/android/beta/all/

Would it make sense to provide those pages without providing updates still?.

I asked Roland and he thinks there are updates now for these Release and Beta builds.
