When I type I make the same mistakes over and over. for instance I want to type " the" but it comes out "hte", I want to type "with" and it comes out " wiht". You get the picture. One day while correcting my "hte" to "the" I right clicked on the mouse and found a check spelling option on the drop down. Some how I changed "hte" to a real word and now there is no red line under it to help me see my error. I only have this problem in Gmail and as I checked into it I was told it was my browser. Currently as I look at what I just typed there are red lines under "wiht" and "Gmail" but not under "hte". I would love to be able to change "hte" back to a misspelled word so it has a red line under it and I can remedy the spelling. HELP!!!!

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar.

Type: layout.spellcheckDefault Its values are; 0 Spell Checker Off 1 Check Only Multi-Line Input Boxes. 2 Check Multi And Single Line Input Boxes.

Also, check the spellchecker.dictionary entry.

GMail may also have a spell checker.

I did what you said but once I found the layout.spellcheckDefault and spellchecker.dictionary, I wasn't sure how to proceed. The values mentioned weren't obvious and I tried "modify" and all I can say is I am thankful for the reset button cause I didn't know what I was doing or had done. GMail has a spellchecker but you have to initiate it, it is not automatic.

What is the entry for spellchecker.dictionary ? Right click and select Copy, then Paste it here.

Set layout.spellcheckDefault to 2 Check Multi And Single Line Input Boxes.

spellchecker.dictionary is not showing now...weird it was earlier and I still have that red line so it must still be working. I didn't change any settings when I got in the first time. I changed this layout.spellcheckDefault to 2 but I don't see the boxes I need to check???

It didn't allow the download because of the source of the app however I found a spellcheck dictionary by searching for spellcheck...boolean type and it's value is true..whatever that means
