I use Firefox with DuckDuckGo. I cannot turn off location-aware browsing permanently. I have to do it manually. How do I disable the location permanently?

Hello,

I use the most recent version of Firefox with Windows 8.1. I browse using DuckDuckGo. I am unable to follow the procedure to PERMANENTLY disable this setting, which specifies: "in the URL bar, type about: config". Obviously, this won't work in the DuckDuckGo URL bar. I have to disable the location-based browsing manually each time.

How do I proceed to permanently disable this feature?

Thanks,

harkkana

You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

  • Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
  • Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected

Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab.
