As of this morning, Monday, 3/24/2014, when I open up my internet, my page opens and another window automatically opens also showing as "New Tab". It looks as though it is a search page, does not say, but shows the following displayed content: "Facebook", "You Tube", "AliExpress", "Bookings.com", "Gameo", a white flying bird in a blue square box, "Amazon.com", "EBay", and about (6) other things, all in big square boxes. How in the heck can I get rid of this. Very annoying.

Check your home page settings under Options - General. Make sure only the site you want is set as the homepage.

If that doesn't help, you may have a malicious add-on installed. I can't say for sure since you declined to install the Troubleshooter add-on, and you didn't provide a list of your extensions. Remove any dubious add-ons from the Add-ons Manager, Extensions category. See if the following article helps.
