I have been unable to delete cookies since updating to 9.0.1. After some reading, I have discovered that I now have 3 cookies' files contained in my Profile, 2 of which were added at the update.

Websites act as if cookies are cleared, but cookies are still listed. I have AdBlock Plus enabled and checked for Private Browsing, but am able to access Recent History and Clear Cookies through the tool bar, which I was unable to do before (they were inaccessible, because Private Browsing doesn't, or didn't, keep track of History). All of the cookies are ad sites, with the few website addresses that I have accessed. There are multiple listings of cookies for the same site (ie., adbrite.com, realmedia.com, 247realmedia.com, are listed 20 or more times, I counted!) and I have only accessed 5 or so websites. I have not uninstalled/reinstalled FF, for fear of adding even more cookie files. The file names are cookies.sqlite-shm, cookies.sqlite-wal and cookies.sqlite. Should I keep the original and delete the other two? Or, should I delete all and start over with a new one?

Hi,

Another way you can manage the settings is via Clear Recent History (Ctrl + Shift + Del), also accessible via the Tools (Alt + T) menu. You can manage the time range as well as the individual items to purge by clicking on Details.

(If this is a repeat reply to my own post, I apologize. I could have sworn I hit the "Post Reply," not "Close," button.)

I think I solved the issue. I enabled 'Safe Mode,' then enabled, one by one, each add-on, restarting in between each, until I found the culprit. It was not TACO. Hopefully, this is the end.

Thank you for your reply, I truly appreciate your time and response.

Avoid getting the cookies in the first place, after clearing the cookie files as mentioned above. Go to Ghostery.com and down load their program. I enable all items except "Widgets", which I need to add "Gadgets" to my Google Home Page; which is http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en. Ghostery blocks 755 out of 767 items that include tracking cookies etc. They allow a White page for sites which you don't want to block, like your bank's URL etc.
