only one account is slow in download

i installed thunderbird for awhile in my pc, i have a few email a/c in thunderbird. all good till recently, i thought is too many emails make it slow.... so i deleted many and moved many to archives.... a big clean up. only app 80 emails left in this inbox, but still very slow in downloading, deleting.... all action. do i miss anything in setup... please get me back, thanks.

yes. thanks. i did all what the article recommended said but one:)) as i can't find it- the third point under "mcafee". but great, all running normal now. thanks again.
