Unfortunately, I had to delete and reinstall all the softwear on my imac and as a result I have lost all my e-mails in the local folders on Thunderbird. Is it possible to get these back again as they might be saved on the Thunderbird servers ? Your help and advice will be much appreciated. Many thanks, John

I had a defective hard drive that was replaced. I lost the profiles that I had previously on the old hard drive (Except for the profiles from a year ago). Is it possible to reinstall Thunderbird as if it was a completely new program, link it to Spectrum webmail, and recover all my emails still on Spectrum webmail. and also create a new recreated profile. Several times a day, at least three or four, Thunderbird becomes unresponsive. I just get the little rotating circle and nothing else. It will go this for as much as three or four minutes.

I have reloaded Thunderbird twice with no improvement.

It happens on all three of my computers running Thunderbird. My mail comes through Google mail and I have two accounts, one through the University and a second private one. They both respond the same way. My computers are PC's.

I hope you can help me as I much prefer Thunderbird over the browser email client for google mail.

I am using Thunderbird from its beginning (28 years?? more??)

My version is 128.5.2esr (32 bits) few weeks ago, when login, I am notified for each mail I received since my computer was off. They arrive one after the other, as before, I had just one message for each ACCOUNT. So, if I have been mailed 30 messages on 3 accounts, I receive 30 notifications (and before, just 3). Is there some parameter to come back to previous system? Or is it a bug to be fixed? Thanks for answer!

I have 3 computers and I want to make sure Thunderbird is synchronized on all 3. Yes, I have checked your forums for help. Here’s my configuration:

Main PC – used daily. Thunderbird has 4 email accounts. One is IMAP, the others are POP. Backup PC – Used only occasionally. files on this computer are synchronized with the Main PC about once per month. The email accounts are the same as the main computer. Laptop – Used only occasionally. files on this computer are synchronized with the Main PC about once per month. The email accounts are the same as the main computer.

I have read articles on how to move profiles, but I have not come across one that does what I want to do. Also, I am confused about whether filters can be duplicated on more than one computer. I have seen suggestions to just use IMAP (which might work for some, but not all, accounts), but that doesn’t address how to copy filters and keep them synchronized.

Here’s what I would like to do.

Step 1: Back up Main PC Step 2: Copy Thunderbird emails and filters from that backup to the Backup PC Step 3: Copy Thunderbird emails and filters from that backup to the Laptop.

When all steps are completed, I would expect that if I open Thunderbird on either the Backup PC or the Laptop that all messages, folders, and filers would be exactly like those on the Main PC.

Is this possible? If so, what must I do to ensure everything works as I would like?

Thunderbird. When I boot up the program it gets hung up trying to load the Inbox file and then after about 20 minutes the program crashes and asks for a restart.

I've tried Troubleshooting Mode but it only recommends "Clear Startup Cache" and when I click it to reboot the program Thunderbird stills fails to load the Inbox file and Troubleshooting Mode again recommends the same "Clear Startup Cache" as a remedy. Not sure what to do to get Inbox file loaded in program. BTW the program does download new emails to the Inbox file but program is unable to load the file. During Thunderbird program restart the message at the bottom left of Thunderbird window is "Summarizing files for Inbox" which after 20 minutes program crashes ans asks for a reboot. Any corrective action recommendations is appreciated.

A few days ago my wife clicked to open an email and the whole Thunderbird page changed so that it is now almost un-usable. I tried using the program that allows you to recover to a previous day with no luck. In frustration I saved the email file from profiles, uninstalled Thunderbird, rebooted then downloaded a new copy of the software and installed it, no luck, it opened with all my emails in the same almost un-usable configuration I can still receive email from a webmail program but it is slow and frustrating. A few weeks ago after an automatic update I ended up having Thunderbird version 131.0.1 installed, I have no idea how this happened. On opening I get a message telling me I shouldn't be using a beta version and that I should revert to the latest general release version (128.4)

Today when I had some free time I downloaded 128.4 and installed it. On opening it it says that I can't use a profile file from a later version with the earlier version. Is there a way to recover from this WITHOUT having to set up the whole profile again from scratch.

Meanwhile I have done a system restore so I am back with 131.0.1 It has not given me any problems so far. Is there a new general release version imminent that will get me back on track?

I would appreciate any help I am not a computer expert, just a user, and find Thunderbird a very good email client.

It was reported as a bug (see links below) and it says in the report it was fixed, but the problem still seems to be there in the newest version. Any idea when this will be fixed, or if there is anything I can do about it?
