When I view a PDF in firefox which contains the greek letter mu: µ it doesnt display. It just leaves a blank space. The documents Im downloading are scientific protocols and they display fine on other browsers. Just not on firefox on Windows.

e.g.

"165 µl" displays as "165 l"

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The latest version of the PDF viewer is available as an extension and does a better job than the 0.6.143 version shipped with Firefox 19 in a lot of cases.

You can find the latest version of the PDF Viewer (pdfjs) extension here:

Current Firefox versions have enabled a new build-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all the features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options > Applications".
