Desktop Windows 8.1 - Pandora Premium account has played fine until about Dec. 19, 2018. Then it will stop playing and I cannot click on any other song and get it to play. Or it will begin to jump around in the same song...sounding terrible and the timer will also jump around...usually the seconds count...example 7:34 will jump to 7:42 and back to 7:34 and to 7:39, etc. I can sometimes clear Cache and Cookies and restart and it will work but sometimes not. PANDORA help has given up...they do not have an answer. I also sometimes get a quick window that opens at the top of the Pandora page that will say "We are experiencing trouble playing audio. If problem persists, check your internet connection and refresh the browser." ...it will soon stop playing. I tried Google Chrome and I have the same issue with Pandora. I work from home and use two more desktop computers and they have no issues...one is a company supplied computer and the other is very old...running Windows XP, just for email and it will not play sound, so I cannot play Pandora on those, but they never have internet connection issues.

This sounds like when your on the company network infrastructure they are blocking anything other then what is permitted to use their network. Reason being you said the issue also happens with Chrome and then indicated at home with both computer there is no issue. That would stand to reason this is related to the company network you use when at work doesn't permit personal connections for obvious security reasons. So it comes down to your home internet works but connecting from work doesn't for security reasons. If that is the case then this is a company policy and not related to the forum here to resolve.

No, I'm working from home using my own internet provider on a separate company-provided computer. I have my own desktop computer running Windows 8.1 playing my Pandora Premium. It has worked fine up until Dec 19. I'm frustrated that Pandora support does not ask to connect to my machine and help with the issue. Their last email told me to disable Flash and HTML5 blockers (I don't know what that is or how to disable or is it even safe) and then to turn off all plug-ins and extensions to see if it would play smoothly. I have not tried that either.

Then did you check if your security software isn't blocking or any adblocker are blocking access?

Hi CQD2, as a quick test of whether it may be related to settings or add-ons, could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the Create a New Profile button, then click Next. Assign a name like Jan2019, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Set as default profile button below that profile, then scroll back up and click the Restart normally button. (There are some other buttons, but please ignore them.)

Firefox should exit and then start up using the new profile, which will just look brand new. Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Does Pandora play better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, open the about:profiles page again, click the Set as default profile button for your normal profile, then click the Restart normally button to get back to it.

Just getting back to this issue today. I had closed my Pandora last week and I opened it again today. It played for about an hour until it got to a song that was 14 minutes long and about 6 minutes in, up popped a message box "We are experiencing trouble playing audio. If problem persists, check your internet connection and refresh the browser." It stopped at 11 minutes into the song and would not respond. I left the Pandora tab open and started another tab with the guidelines you suggested. I clicked the Restart Normally button and the screen updated with the new profile. The original Pandora tab was still open so I closed it. I then opened a new tab and opened Pandora. It opened at the song where it had stopped and picked up 11 minutes in...playing the song like it had never stopped. It is playing normally for the moment. Does this scenario indicate where the issue resides...with the browser? Before now, I have not been able to successfully restart Pandora after it stops playing without clearing cache and cookies and closing and restarting Pandora or Firefox. Well, it stopped again after a few more songs. It stopped at 11:48 into a 11:58 song. I looked at the screen and after 5 seconds, it played the song to the end....with the counter progressing to 11:58, then stopped and will not progress to the next song or start the next song when I click on it. It will not play the same song it stopped on, but it looks like it might...the counter resets to 0:00 but it will not play. I can click on a previous song and it will play. I can click back on a song past the point where it had stopped and it will stop playing the current song but will not load the song I clicked on. This is crazy.

Hmm, did I miss a step? Usually if you create a new profile, designate that as your default, and restart normally, you shouldn't get any of the tabs from your old profile opening in the new profile. It should be clean. So I'm not sure what happened in that test.

I can't follow directions...missed the step to set as my profile. Trying again.
