I use Win XP, Mozilla 29 and Flash 16.0.0.296. It says Flash outdated but Update doesn't work - only shows that Flash 11 is blocked
this is what I see "Flash Player Plugin between 11.0 and 11.7.700.169 (click-to-play) has been blocked for your protection.
Why was it blocked?
Old versions of the Flash Player plugin are potentially insecure and unstable. All users are strongly recommended to update on our plugin check page."
But the plugin check page only leads to the same... How to get out of this loop?
Chosen solution
Because it is vulnerable to a critical exploit. Flash Player 16.0.0.305 and 13.0.0.269 ESR are the current versions.
Some say the Flash Player 13.0 ESR is better for Windows XP.

Thanks, James. So why the plugin update page 1. refers to 11 version and not 16 that I have? 2. has no direct link to the proper update (like it was in the past)?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/ 1. = look at Feb 5, 2015 for the three entries for Flash on that day, and Jan 28, 2015 - 3 more for Flash, plus Dec 11 & 12, 2014 another three for Flash 2. = my guess is that Adobe has been changing the pages around too often and someone at Mozilla made a mistake when editing that "check" page with the links
Regardless, the link that James posted for getting the latest versions, without any extra garbage like a McAffe extension or other software that if you aren't careful will be installed along with Flash. And as James mentioned, the Extended Support Release - Flash Player 13.0.0.269 is probably best for WinXP. Scroll almost to the bottim of that page to see 13.0.0.629. The later versions have some newer features that don't do anything on WinXP, an old deprecated OS; those features are for Vista, Win7, and Win8 versions of Windows.

Thanks! Just for some reason after download it refused to install extended 13.0.0.269 saying that it's not the latest version... so I had to download 16.0.0.305 - and it works!
What is saying the 13.0.0.269 is not latest version? as it was released at same time as 16.0.0.305 was.
It maybe because previously I didn't use ESR versions, so it forces to continue with the line I had (?)
