SSL3.0, TLS1.0, Load images automatically, Enable javascript settings no longer there in 29.0.1?

After the latest update to 29.0.1, some tabs in the options have disappeared.

Options, Content, can no longer see "Load images automatically" and "Enable Javascript" to tick them. Options, Advanced, Encryption tab is no longer there to tick "Use SSL 3.0" and "Use TLS 1.0"

How do I get these back in 29.0.1 to be able to access secure sites with full functionality instead of getting a message that my browser is no longer supported? I really do not want to downgrade to a previous version or use a different browser, but everything with details of how to fix this only shows screen shots from earlier versions.

Those two items in Options > Content have been gone since Firefox 23.0.

javascript.enabled is in about:config and block images per domain is in Page Info.

Sorry I don't recall when the Encryption tab was changed.

javascript.enabled is true

Page info shows Load Images as Allow

Block images box is not ticked

and the site still does not work. Even if 29.0.1 does have these settings, the website cannot see them and thinks 29.0.1 is an older or insecure version of Firefox.

You can check the ssl and tls prefs on the about:config page. If any ssl or tls pref is bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose "Reset" to reset the pref to the default value. Paste this regular expression in the Search bar at the top of the about:config page:

  • /security.*ssl|security.*tls/

You can check the security.tls.version.min and security.tls.version.max prefs to see which SSL/TLS versions are enabled.

You may need to close and restart Firefox after changing these prefs.

security.tls.version.min = 0 (1 will disable SSL3 and only enable TLS)
security.tls.version.max = 2 (0 will disable TLS 1.0 and higher, leaving only SSL3 enabled)

0 means SSL 3.0, 1 means TLS 1.0, 2 means TLS 1.1, 3 means TLS 1.2 etc.

Thanks I have checked all these and they had no effect - it appears the issue is that without the "Load images automatically" that part of the website will not work. It is something I only go to once or twice every month or so and not always so it is not easy to notice that it no longer works.

Any idea where exactly that setting is in 29.0.1 and what the latest version to have that tab is?

Given up and went back to 27.0.1 and things work fine again.

I do miss the 1990s when upgrades and newer versions worked great, had new features and things didn't stop working:)
