Gmail won't load in standard view
Using Firefox 29. Today, Gmail refuses to load in standard view. I have tried clearing my cache, clearing cookies, starting in Firefox safe mode - nothing works. It loads fine in IE but not in Firefox. No problem with any of the other Google apps I've tried, only Gmail.

Does that same thing happen in Safe Mode also? I just want to be sure. I read your post!

It has been happening every day since the day I posted that question. Sometimes eventually it does load, but I never had this happen before now.

I'm also having the same problem since v29 (now on v29.0.1).
Despite downloading 'old compose', gmail still only loads in that horrid and limiting little box format.
This problem occurred the instant I opened an email from oldcompose@gmail.com on 15th May - it reverted straight back to the new format - like, immediately - which I found a bit bizarre. Communications with the originators of the email claim they've never come across the situation before (most helpful - not) and have washed their hands of the problem.
The blue 'old compose' icon on the toolbar, which is now magically displayed on the toolbar (it wasn't displaying in v29) goes through the motions of re-loading gmail and giving false hope that it's going to work, but it doesn't restore gmail to it's former glory at all; it's typically impotent.
I'm also missing the options icon - or whatever it's called - the 3 horizontal lines icon? - that's vanished from v29.0.1.
All in all, I'm a bit fed up with things being updated just for the sake of it; if Mozilla wanted to snatch a chunk of the Google mobile phone users market, they could have created a separate app for them to download, instead of leaving us - the desktop end users - feeling frustrated and screwed over, particularly with the lack of knowledgeable support.
