When I'm watching a Netflix program, click the back to browsing button, choose another program, and click to start, Firefox suddenly generates a blank window.

At the top of the new window where you type in a URL, it says something like "about" and nothing else. This only happens as described above. I noticed that the adobe flash player was crashing so I fixed that problem and everything was normal until recently when this blank window began popping up on it's own. Not sure what that's about but I would like to fix it so it doesn't happen anymore.

Back button is not recommended for such things. When going back some actions may be repeated, some cookies might get crazy and that explains this bugs.

Your location bar may say about:blank what means blank page. That may be created once creating but not loading a page. Expect everything from Back Button.

Using the Back Button on Netflix shouldn't be causing a problem, it's meant to go back on pages, unless filling out a form, making an online purchase, etc. (normally these pages will warn you not to use the back button).

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
