I updated firefox and now it won't work. I am running windows 7 on my toshiba laptop. After the update when I opened firefox it said it was unable to connect to the websites. I checked Proxy settings and firewall settings, no problems there. I uninstalled and completely deleted everything to do with firefox from my computer, redownloaded and installed it and still have the same problem. I restored my computer to before the update and that did not help. I am unable to find an answer to my problem. Internet explorer is still working fine so I know that I have access to the internet and my network is good. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Same problem here, but I have noticed that Firefox keeps changing my Proxy settings from none to some number. I keep changing it back in options but never seems to save it. Am gonna give up sadly on FF if this keeps on...
