something changed recently that the pictures I try and view in facebook don't "fit" in the deliniated space, they cover some of the text below the pic.

I use a MacBook Pro w/ OS 10.6.8 -- Firefox 6.0.1 Up until recently any facebook pics I viewed showed up fine, but then I think fb made an update (at least the visual presentation appears to be different) and now when I view some (but not all) of the pics on face book they cover up part of the text. In the one test case I did with Safari, the same pictures were displayed without covering up the text. Please help...

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause issues like you described.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
  • Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
