Inbox emails go to Junk box when transferring to other Local Folders subfolders

For some time now some emails I thought had been moved from my Inbox to other folders have been 'disappearing'. Eventually I discovered that these 'missing' emails have gone into the Junk folder. It seems likely that when selecting a currently closed email that I want to move the 'not junk' status is changing to 'junk' without me being aware of it and when I release the email after dragging it to the required folder it goes to the junk folder instead. I don't know which release and/or setting may have caused this but it is something that never used to occur.

Any advice (in non-technical terms please) on how to prevent this will be appreciated. Mike H

Don't click on the junk icon in the list when dragging? I can't think of anything else.

I'm not sure why I have the 'Sort by' junk status column - it's been there for some time but I've never taken any notice of it, thinking I suppose that if the status was junk it wouldn't be in the Inbox anyway. In any event, I hadn't appreciated that I could change the status of same by clicking on the icon, I've always done so by 'marking' as junk.

Now you've pointed this out I've tried dragging a few emails to other folders and it is very likely that the relatively small percentage that were going to junk was because the cursor was hovering on the junk status as I started to drag. So, I have removed the icon column. I am grateful to you Mark for drawing this (what now seems obvious) to my attention.

Thanks Mike
