I'm running the latest version of Firefox and when I post a comment on disqus based comment section on breitbart.com my comment gets posted at the location where it should go, but the page automatically scrolls down to the bottom of the page, and then I have to manually scroll back to find my comment and continue reading, And if it's a hot topic, sometimes I have to search for the location, as multiple other posts are being submitted by other readers and my previous location gets lost.

Just as mysteriously as it started, it has stopped. With no further input from me.

Thank you for your time in regards to this issue...

Hi hangman54, please ignore the spam message promoting an unofficial phone number.

I think someone posted about a similar problem yesterday either here or on Reddit. I don't post Disqus comments myself, so I haven't seen it personally. Possibly after posting the comment the site directs the browser to a particular point in the page -- and it's not working correctly in Firefox.

Sometimes in the case of a code change, Firefox clings to cached files or saved cookie data which are inconsistent with the new code. So to rule that out, we typically suggest:

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Thank you for your reply, I did as you suggested, but no joy... I am having this issue on my main computer and my laptop, they are both running the same config. so I would expect them both to be affected.

Can you point me to the post on reddit, I have an account there but don't really go there often.

It seems that something got updated and threw a wrench in the gearbox, in the big scheme of things, it's not a big deal, just kind of a pain.....

P S. I have logged in to the disqus board using Vivaldi browser and did not experience any issues, and I did a refresh on Firefox also...

I poked around on reddit and found the post, seems like it's a pretty isolated issue, so it probably won't get much attention. I'll do some more poking around.....
