I followed the instructions on exporting bookmarks to an html file, then importing them into my laptop copy of firefox. Some bookmarks did not make it.
Version 63.0.3 (64-bit) running in Windows 7 in the desktop. Same version in laptop, but it says (32-bit). Newer bookmarks, from the past month are missing in the laptop. I saw no error messages when I did the export/export functions. What did I do wrong?

OK, I deleted all the extra "All Bookmarks" entries, then did another export/import to the laptop, and all is well. Latest entries now appear. Problem solved with the help of Mr. FredMcD. :)

Some additional info: I can see the new bookmarks by viewing the html file, but they do not show up in the laptop version of Firefox.
Try doing another export. Is the problem still there?

I am pretty sure the problem is not from the export. As a test, I saved the Bookmarks from the laptop to an HTML just to compare the size of the files. The desktop file is 25,701 Kb. The export from the laptop is 106,183Kb. More than 4 times larger !! I guess I just don't understand how bookmarks work. It looks like the laptops html file contains 4 copies. Some have the latest entries from the desktop, some don't. I can only see these entries while looking at the html file.
Maybe I should delete all the bookmarks in the laptop and try again. What do you think?
I would strongly suggest that you first make a backup of the original file before doing that.
I think I may have found a clue as to what is causing the problem. As you can see, there is an entry called "All Bookmarks". I don't know how it got there, but it is essentially a copy of all my bookmarks. I will try deleting it to see if the html file returns to a single listing.
