I have been using Thunderbird as an aggregator with my several gmail accounts for a long time. Recently, one of my email accounts/email boxes is not receiving all my incoming gmail. Someone will tell me they've emailed me; won't find it in my Thunderbird list, but will find it if I log on to gmail. Please advise. Thank you. Susan Beatty

First, do some cleanup:

1. Go through your Junk/Spam folder. Check to make sure no good e-mails are there, then empty the folder.

2. Thunderbird Menu: File: Empty Trash (Press the Alt key or F10 key on your keyboard to show the Thunderbird menu.)

3. Thunderbird Menu: File: Compact Folders

Do these steps for each "account" in Thunderbird, including Local Folders.

Quit Thunderbird, then start it again.

If it has been awhile, reboot the computer!

Second:

Are you using POP or IMAP with your Gmail in Thunderbird?

If you are using POP, then are the e-mails for the affected Gmail account in separate folders from the other Gmail accounts, including Inbox?

I went through the first instructions. Don't really know yet whether it worked; however, to answer the second part, yes I'm using POP and yes the Gmail affected Gmail account is in a separate folder from other Gmail accounts. Note: Some email comes in from Gmail to Thunderbird and some do not. I don't know how to test whether it is fixed until I hear I didn't get an email!

OK, I missed the part that you received some e-mails for the account, but not others. Still, the cleanup instructions always help :)

Check the Junk folder for the e-mails. Check all folders for the e-mails.

Check your Message Filters for that account to see if any filters are moving messages to somewhere you are not expecting them.

Interestingly enough, I did not have a Junk folder under that email account. Each of the other six had a Junk folder. But I just added one. Didn't know I had to add that manually. I'm not sure I know how to manage Message Filters, although I clicked on the Manage Message Filters in the settings and saw no filters listed. So I guess messages are not being re-rerouted through that avenue. I have someone else in the office using that Gmail account (not via Thunderbird), monitoring whether something comes in there that I don't get. So far nothing new has come in. Not sure where to go on this. I suppose I will have to wait to see what happens. Thanks.

Now you need to check your Junk settings. Please see my response to this question for how to do that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1154611

Ok, Did all of that. I will have to wait to see if the issue is resolved. Thank you for your help. Susan

this sounds very similar to a problem I am having with my charter account. Simply turning TB off and back on usually downloads the new messages. But this fix only works if you "know" you have a new message pending, the rest of the time you don't know if you are getting messages timely or not.
