pdf icons blank
(okay 2nd time I type this in, seems like your "ask questions" feature is buggy as well. -- I think the first time I typed this message it went blank afterward) Note to myself: copy message before submit. :)
I uninstalled Adobe Reader - I hate that crummy bloatware software.
I then associated Mozilla Firefox to open my PDF files -- I find it light and easy to use.
My issue is that all my PDF files on my desktop and system folders are blank. They don't show the Firefox icon or anything. Makes it difficult to spot them if I got a few files in my folders since they are blank.
I've already tried deleting the IconCache.db -- but that workaround did not work.
The funny things is if I associate the PDF files to another app (let's say Word or another app). Their icons appear on the files okay. Only when I then associate Firefox to be the PDF viewer, they show as blank files with no icons.
The PDF files open fine with Mozilla Firefox. But it bugs me to see them as blank icons on my desktop and system files.
Hopefully you can help me troubleshoot it, or perhaps an update is required from Firefox?

Here is a screenshot that shows how the PDF file with a blank icons appear in a folder.
Did you try to assign an icon to these shortcuts via the Properties?

Keep in mind these are main files, not shortcuts of the PDF files. Only shortcuts you can assign an icon, but to the main file, it's close to impossible.
I am also thinking that the ICO (image) for Mozilla may be the issue. Sometimes if the PNG isn't done correctly, or perhaps too much compression can be an issue that it won't be able to fetch it.
Just something to look into on your side, since I recall having similar issues with other apps back when I was using XP (on a different PC). Sometimes the app's ICO (ICON) would not appear since it was corrupted or way too compressed.
