It's a Miracle!
I don't know which update did it... but I noticed today for the first time that Firefox "find" function (CMD + F on the mac) is no longer case sensitive!
Lord Jesus, Hallelujah! I can't tell you how many times I was looking for some text on a big page and was stymied because the word started a sentence, or was in all caps, and the silly case-sensitive search function wouldn't pick it up. I almost (ALMOST) switched to Chrome just because of this craziness. But now I don't have to.
To whomever fixed this in whatever update, bravo, sir, bravo. Or madam. Bravo, whoever you are!

The Match case check box is only on the find bar that opens via Cmd+F.
That check box isn't on the Quick find bar that opens if you open the find bar via / or ' or via search text.

the option to switch off case-sensitive search has always been available: How to search the contents of the current page for text or links
Good to know madperson. Though I wonder why suddenly it's not "on" for me? I certainly didn't change any settings!
I just noticed the little "match case" check box there now! Good grief! So you're saying that's always been there? Shock/Awe. I humbly admit my foolishness, and slink away from the forum!
yes, it has always been there as long as i can remember - at least you'll now know where to look whenever you need to toggle it in the future ;-)
