I have this weird problem, when I try to go on Firefox about:config section to add a new string the string isnt added.

I need to add 3 strings in order to get website loading some pictures directly from my HDD.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox, going Safe-Mode to try add these strings, but it wont accept them, no error or anything pops up.

On work I have done the steps without problems, here it works fine.

Troubleshooting information

New String: capability.policy.policynames "localfilelinks" New String: capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites "http://www.fallensword.com" New String: capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkloaduri.enabled "allAccess"

What version number of Firefox? Where are you getting the information about modifying Firefox? What preferences are you trying to add?

CAPS string do not show on the about:config page and are also not saved in prefs.js You need to place such rules in user.js in the Firefox Profile Folder
