Frequently Locked Out of MS Outlook Account When Sending Outlook Emails from Thunderbird

Often, I attempt to send an email from my Outlook email address using Thunderbird, but the email does not go out and I am locked out of my MS Outlook account because I am allegedly ~violating terms of use; doesn't make sense because I am usually sending a single email, to one person, with no attachment, often in response to an email I have received. This has been going on for months, but does not occur when I attempt to send emails from my Android phone or the Outlook web interface. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the msg that I receive in Thunderbird when this occurs; MS notes that:

We noticed some unusual activity in your Outlook.com account. To help protect you, we've temporarily blocked your account. Why are you seeing this? Someone may have used your account to send out a lot of junk emails or something else that violates our Terms of Service.

Does anyone have any idea why this persistently occurs, and what I might to do resolve it? This problem didn't occur when I first starting using an Outlook email address around two years ago, but has become an issue this year.

I appreciate any assistance people can provide!

are you sure the from address in your compose window matched the outlook account. The MS people get really quite nasty if you try and send mail from one email address using another's credentials.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for responding earlier; I haven't followed up since I had not been locked out again until now (sent 8 emails successfully ... what a streak).

It happened again, when I was responding via Thunderbird to an email sent to my outlook.com email address (one recipient), with the email sent from the same email outlook.com email address. The message I received was the following:

An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:OutboundSpamException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message WASCL UserAction verdict is not None. Actual verdict is Suspend, ShowTierUpgrade. OutboundSpamException: WASCL UserAction verdict is not None. Actual verdict is Suspend, ShowTierUpgrade. [Hostname=CO6PR18MB3969.namprd18.prod.outlook.com]. Please check the message and try again.

Does that help? I was able to reactivate the account quickly via a text, but this is a pain.

Thanks for your help.

There is a problem at outlook. See Bug 172916 for details and links to fix the issue.
