Ihave reinstalled Firefox >7 times... I dont want Yahoo.
It keeps redirecting my webpages with DNS lookup errors... site is Ebay, RX8club.com.au, steam, even Mozilla cannot "access the server" because obviously Yahoo hates Google.
How the hell do I remove ALL TRACE of f****n* yahoo from Firefox.
Or do I just delete the whole damn thing and go bat to IE? (I could not even access support unless I did it via Internet Explorer!!
Please help.... And stop these stupid partnership deals with idiots like Yahoo.

Also, in case Firefox is set to use different DNS than IE, check your connection setting here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
Normally Firefox will piggyback on your Windows (IE / LAN) settings with "Use system proxy settings" but you also could try "No proxy".
But an extension still could override this, so you'll need to check those as well.

There is a special Yahoo version of Firefox, but in order to get it, you have to download from Yahoo. Mozilla's site distributes the default version where it's all Google:
https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
More often, though, problems with page hijacking or search diversion are caused by add-ons or malware. Checking and cleaning that will take a few steps.
I suggest starting here:
Open the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Then, in Firefox, open the Add-ons page using either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible).
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
To reset the home page, search service, and new tab page to defaults, you can use this one-step solution: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
Please follow up if you have these issues:
- If that doesn't take, you may have missed a program named SearchProtect which blocks some settings changes in Firefox, or you may have an unwanted settings lock file.
- If it doesn't stick after you exit and restart Firefox, then look for a user.js file as described in this article: How to fix preferences that won't save. Also, if you have Advanced SystemCare, disable its feature to block browser settings changes until you have it set the way you want it.

"If you can't use the latest version of Firefox, we recommend that you use the latest version of another browser:
Internet Explorer Google Chrome Opera "
Now that is customer suport, too bad so sad, go somewhere else. Ok, Firefox, 'color me gone!'. Seems the days of Firefox's user friendly ways are done. They've made a deal with the devil!
