White text on white background...help!!

more options

Hi, I just recently downloaded Firefox and had noticed only on Facebook that in the comment box and update box I couldn't see my text. I realized the the text was white on the white background. I thought this was only on Facebook but I'm noticing as well as I write this (so pardon any mistakes, I can't see what I'm writing lol). I have tried adjusting the colors both on my pc and within Firefox and I'm at a loss as to what to do at this point. If it helps, I am running Windows 7 on a laptop but it also did it on my desktop.

Could you go into the Options dialog and let pages choose their own fonts and colors?

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content panel

  • "Colors" button: check the box for "Allow pages to choose their own colors"

OK back to the page and see whether that fixes it. If not, also try:

  • "Advanced" button : check the box for "Allow pages to choose their own fonts"

Any luck?

You can check the default colors.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content Fonts & Colors > Colors:
[X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

Note that these settings affect background images.

By the way, probably not related, but:

The "Updated Ad Blocker for Firefox 11+" can be removed. Adblock Plus is more up-to-date than that one. You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then you will find it in alphabetical order...
