Two days ago "Bookmark this Page" stopped working. I cannot bookmark any webpages anymore - and it's not like I haven't been using Firefox for years and years. I know how to bookmark & also how to sort bookmarks into my bookmark toolbar. But for no reason that I can find, bookmark no longer works. Period. I click on the "Bookmark This Page" line and nothing happens. What happened? HELP!!!!

Reset Firefox was only part of the answer. I already had the latest version of Firefox, so upgrading was not part of the problem. I followed some instructions on this forum --

Before you start, export your bookmarks into a html file on your desktop just in case something goes wrong in the process below. To export bookmarks, click on Bookmarks on the Toolbar above. Click Show All Bookmarks. A window will open with a star and a drop down arrow at the top left (beside 2 other icons). Click the drop down arrow and you'll see an option for Export Bookmarks. Then:

1. Click Help on the Toolbar above. 2. Click Troubleshooting Information. 3. A Mozilla page will come up -- under the headed Application Basics, click on Show in Finder. 4. For me, a file with a random string of letters and number and a .default before a / and more numbers came up. Open the file. 5. Look for a folder called places.sqlite. Delete it.

Reset Firefox and voila my bookmarks were all there & I could bookmark again as usual.

Don't forget to export your bookmarks first and save them to a file on your desktop just in case!

Cheers -- Jan

What do you mean by "reset and upgrade" Firefox? I just had it automatically update two days ago and the thing is very unstable now. Today my "bookmark this page" capability disappeared.
