I bookmark page re "star" it does not come on front list of bmarks but I find it on the sub arow marked recently added bmarks, How long does it stay recent? I do not want to go to all the work of adding 30 bmark pages and then have them fall off. New to FF - three days - have read hundreds of pages Thanks Oh, why don't they just go on the list that comes as soon as you click bmarks?

If you create a new bookmark then that new bookmark will appear at the top of the "Recently Bookmarked" list and the others are pushed down, so the one at the bottom is shifted out and will disappear. As long as you do not add bookmarks then that list will stay the same. You can make the Added date column visible in the Bookmarks Manager (Views > Show Columns > Added)

"Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" are examples of the so called Smart Bookmarks folders and are not real existing folders. Such smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the bookmarks and the history in Firefox 3. The bookmarks that show up in such smart folder listing are stored elsewhere in another folder and any changes made are applied to the real bookmark or history item.
