Editing FB posts becomes gibberish. Screen does not update and words become mixed up

more options

This behaviour started before the weekend. When I initially type into a post or reply to friends, everything seems normal, but if I use the backspace key or an apostrophe things go weird. The typing stops being updated on screen and the word order is altered. It is as if the cursor has jumped to a new location in the middle of typing, but you can't tell because of the lack of updating.

This only seems to happen on facebook. On twitter and Pinterest, there do not appear to be problems.WP, spreads and databases all seem to work as normal. I have the paid versions of Malwarebytes, AVG Internet Suite and these are up-to-date and used regularly to check for malware and viruses. I would suspect some kind of interaction between FB and FF. IE works normally, but I hate it.

A few thoughts:

(1) I usually recommend starting by clearing Firefox's cache and your Facebook cookies. Since you use automatic private browsing, I believe that happens when you exit and start Firefox back up again, so if that hasn't helped, we can move on to other things.

(2) When this happens, does Firefox "repaint" the editing area correctly if you zoom up and down (Ctrl+ a couple times, Ctrl- a couple times)?

(3) In case some incompatibility has developed between Firefox and your NVIDIA drivers, you could try disabling Firefox's use of hardware acceleration. That is set here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"

That takes effect after you exit and start Firefox up again.

(4) Your system info shows an optional user.js file in your profile, which will override your previous session settings. You may want to investigate the contents of the file if you did not create it yourself. This article has more info on that: How to fix preferences that won't save.

You have an extension from Grammarly. There are some comments in the some of the reviews about issues after Firefox updates and on Facebook. Might be worth a read:
