I'm having a new problem since the most recent update. When I click an email address inside an email, the from address is showing up as my default account. Before the update, the from address would always be the same as the account the email is in. The outgoing server settings seem to be correct for all my accounts, and the correct email address is showing when I use reply, or when I compose a new message. It's only when I click on an email address within an email that it is reverting to my default email address. I hope I explained that well enough. I'm not good at any of this. But I'm pretty good at following directions if anyone can walk me through how to fix this. Thanks!

An email address inside a message is presented as a mailto link. When you click on it, it opens in your default email client's (in your case, it opens in Thunderbird) message composer/writer. The composer has not idea about where the link was clicked from and that it why it does not default to the From address of the account that received it, like when you reply to a message. The link could have been clicked from anywhere, including outside Thunderbird, say from a browser, pdf document and so on. Instead, Thunderbird's composer defaults to the default identity for the default account in the From field. That's what you're seeing and it has always been like that, at least for me, long before the recent updates/upgrades.

Thank you for the thorough response. That makes sense. It seems like the only explanation is that somehow in conjunction with the update my default email address got changed. I don't know how or why that would happen, but now I can just change it back to what it must have been before. Thanks again!
