How to retain custom-icon shortcuts after Restore?

In Nova launcher, I create a custom icon for each of 100 Firefox bookmark shortcuts on my Android home screens.

But, after an Android "Backup & Restore" (including Nova's backup and import)... All of my links are broken. Touching a shortcut says "app isn't installed" (while both- Firefox and Nova - ARE installed)

Any suggestions on how to lay out custom-icon website shortcuts which SURVIVE an Android Backup and Restore?

Thank you.

PS, forgot to mention:. Android 9, on Moto G7. (But that probably doesn't matter; same problem on Android 8 w Moto G6, and Nokia.). Tried various "Website Shortcut" apps for custom icons, but: Same problem - doesn't survive Android "Restore"

Hi Sean

When you are using the backup and restore process, apps get reinstalled and desktop shortcuts are not kept (this is not just a Firefox for Android thing). I do not think that there is ay way around this at the present time, but it might be something that changes ina future update to Android.

Seburo - Thanks for taking the time to respond. Here's the rub: Website shortcuts for Chrome and Firefox DO get restored to the Android homescreen, after a Backup/Restore... and they work fine. They work - UNLESS I've changed their ICON (which required, in this case, Nova launcher). So, I think you're guiding me the right direction: This is more of a Nova question & problem, not Firefox. I was just hoping Firefox shortcuts had some way to be assigned custom icons (and still survive a restore). Thank you.
