Firefox opens first in Google, good, new tabs open in Yahoo how do I stop this?
In Windows 10 I set Google as my default opening page, but as soon as I open another tab the Yahoo search engine appears (which I deplore). How, please, do I get rid of Yahoo and make all tabs open in Google?

Hi, above is a great Extension but please go to Options --> Home And look at the line at the top there for the Homepage and look at the google URL, Click it then use the right arrow key to move along it and see if yahoo is set up after google.
Please Search for Programs & Features on C :\ as it is still there : Check for Anything from a AdAware or Web Companion from Lavasoft. Uninstall them if Found.
Note they have been moving the files to other locations and changing the name, so may have to look hard and long.
You can look for a file named dsengine.js in these locations. You should only find channel-prefs.js in the "defaults\pref" location. Any file found here apart from channel-prefs.js is suspicious. You can check the content of the file in a text editor (use open with and do not double-click the file).
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\
You can look for a file named dsengine.cfg in the main Firefox program folder.
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
Delete the dsengine.js and dsengine.cfg files when present.
Scan with https://www.malwarebytes.com/ regardless of what you find.
