Hi hsom, I am sorry to hear that your bookmarks are missing after the update. I would recommend checking the steps in this article:

Is there an 'Old Firefox Data' folder on your Desktop. If it has a recent timestamp you can check this article out: Recover important data from an old profile

Please post back if this is helpful!

Aren't there any backups available in the bookmarkbackups folder?

  • Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

It is possible that there has been a problem with the profiles.ini file that registers profiles and that a new default profile got created.

You can check if you have orphaned profiles that aren't registered in profiles.ini and that do not show in the Firefox Profile Manager. You can check that by opening the current profile folder and go up one level.

If you have found an orphaned profile then you may want to recover some personal data.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thank you for your responses.

There was no 'Old Firefox Data' folder on my Desktop. There were no backups to restore. I have no idea if there were any orphaned profiles at the time - armed with that knowledge (and having a look) there aren't any now.

I realized that my boss uses Chrome on this PC and I was able to import enough logins and passwords to get by. I re-created bookmarks from those and imported some bookmarks from my own personal PC.

Backed up logins, passwords, and bookmarks and added them to my daily back-up schedule.

Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
